Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 finally has a firm launch day. Ahead of their San Diego Comic-Con panel, Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company, in collaboration with 20th Century Games, confirmed that the co-op sequel ships worldwide on August 25, 2026. The announcement also locked in edition pricing, Premium Edition cosmetic packs celebrating 40 years of Aliens, and a separate Alien: Romulus DLC pack.

The new release-date teaser shows fresh enemy types and confirms that players will return to Engineer locations. Daybreak and Cold Iron describe Fireteam Elite 2 as a four-player fight for survival rather than a rescue mission, with smarter Xenomorph pressure, deeper squad mechanics, and a fully customizable Specialist class. Pulse rifle weapon customization in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 launches digitally on August 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Two digital editions go live on day one: the Digital Standard Edition at $49.99, and the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition at $69.99. The Premium Edition includes the base game plus two cosmetic packs, while Standard owners can later buy the same content as the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition Upgrade for $19.99. Ripley's Hive Exterminator Pack

First in the Premium Edition lineup is Ripley's Hive Exterminator Pack. It includes Ellen Ripley's legendary outfit from the climax of Aliens, her iconic modified Pulse Rifle, and exclusive decals for further marine customization. Any player-created character can wear the outfit, so the pack is a visual homage rather than a locked character skin.

Herk Mondo's Pest Pack

The second Premium pack leans into comic-book excess with Herk Mondo's Pest Pack. Inspired by the over-the-top comic-book hero from the classic Dark Horse Alien comics, it includes a wild outfit, Herk Mondo's massive modified pulse rifle, and a host of decals meant to make customized marines stand out in co-op. Together with the Ripley pack, it is part of the $69.99 Premium Edition and the $19.99 upgrade path.

Rain's Jackson's Star Pack

Separately from the Premium Edition, Cold Iron is shipping Rain's Jackson's Star Pack on August 25 for $9.99. The pack is available for both Standard and Premium owners and brings Alien: Romulus cosmetics into Fireteam Elite 2. It includes an outfit based on Rain Carradine, the protagonist of Alien: Romulus, plus Rain's specially modified pulse rifle with a cryo underbarrel attachment. That cryoweapon can immobilize and shatter enemies, highlighting Fireteam Elite 2's new element-based weapon mods. The pack also adds Romulus-themed decals and enhancements, and earlier previews already showed the F44AA Pulse Rifle showing up in Horde mode. Horde Mode

Beyond the campaign, Fireteam Elite 2 ships with a dedicated Horde Mode built for four-player co-op wave defense. Larger squads, remade classes, and the customizable Specialist are meant to shine here, where smarter Xenomorph pressure and new enemy roles can stretch a fireteam across longer sessions. Cosmetic packs like Rain's Jackson's Star gear already preview how Horde will show off weapon mods and loadouts, including the F44AA Pulse Rifle, making it the natural endgame loop after the story missions.
