Mae Hendricks was the synthetic daughter of Colonel Zula Hendricks and Davis, built after Davis met robotics technician Mr. Higgs on LV-222 and asked for a child who mixed both of their minds. She was a few months old in 2186 in Alien: Inferno's Fall, when she fought on Shānmén from the Atlatl-class Righteous Fury with Zula's Jackals. In Alien: Seventh Circle she wore a custom human-like shell, lost her memory after the Minos raid, and crashed the station. The last Jackals left Dimitar on the Fury.
Biography
Built After Davis
Davis had spent years jumping from hardware to hardware beside Zula, including a stretch as a security drone who broke his Weyland-Yutani programming. After a meeting with Mr. Higgs on LV-222, he asked the technician to build a daughter if he died, an AI mixed from his mind and Zula's. He named her Mae as a salute to the first woman in the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and as an acronym for Machine Algorithm Embodied.
Davis died on LV-187 in Alien: Colony War, in July 2186, during the reactor shutoff with the synthetic Therese. Mae was a few months old later that year. The Righteous Fury had no spare human-like shell, so she woke in a stock Company combat body, while the ship AI's companion Erynis kept the only human face on board. She was a GC-929882 model.
Combat Body On Shānmén
On the Fury's bridge she watched Zula after the empty townships on Heaven's Cradle, then put the next bomber target at the rim of the Weyland Isles. A satellite lock sent the ship on a 67-hour burn toward GJ1187 / Shānmén. Captain Olivia Shipp sat with the Jericho veterans before that burn. Zula would not send Mae's own shell to the surface.
After two XIP-34B Hornet missiles wrecked the horseshoe bomber over New Luhansk, Mae hid in an Integer 3 combat synth tagged A-Delta and rode Lieutenant Roza Ganser's first dropship against orders. Rust-red wildlife overran the pad and destroyed that hull. Mae tight-beamed a backup about 86 seconds before that body was wrecked.
She fought Erynis for control of the Fury, then went down again with Lieutenant Ray Ackerman in a third combat body. At the tailings, avian adult Xenomorphs with rust-red extra armor tore off her forearm. She marked the black gaps in the plating for the line, then pulled miner Toru McClintock-Riley behind a shield when pathogen-altered eagles wrecked the APCs. A dropship lifted Toru, Lena, Bai Yun, Carter, and the last Ackerman Jackals. In cargo bay E7 at Pylos, Mae read Jin Hua's recordings for the three generals and put human and Nearfield synthetic traffic inside the bomber signal.
Human Shell And The Bomber Chase
By the Minos hunt Mae had left the combat frame for a custom human-like shell. A later clerk on Guelph matched that face about seventy-five percent to Zula, and her wreck serial to a Weyland-Yutani experimental. Her blood ran mixed red, not white. Zula factory-reset the ship AI EWA and Erynis so they would not remember she was synthetic, which also cut her off the ship network and left her running panels by hand.
After Pylos the Fury tracked the Shānmén bomber by leftover residue. Mae faked engine trouble, dumped barrels, and detonated missiles while the horseshoe ship threw rock with gravitational singularities. The Fury lost two dropships and took hangar and deck breaches. A scarred Bishop named Rook finished the bomber in the UAEV Blackstar and handed Zula a disc from Blue Marsalis that pointed at Minos.
The Raid On Minos
Minos hung over the ice world Dimitar. Mae walked Rook into synth repair as a damaged Bishop, spiked the repair-bay node, and found a firewalled level 11 where Dr. Weis's pad mixed human DNA with the fungus Kuebiko from Hotoke. She loaded copies of herself into combat synths G1 and R1 and did not tell Zula. Green Mae scratched the Shānmén infinity mark on her chest. Red Mae smudged her combat face so Zula could tell her apart.
Green Team died in command when station AI Kaspar opened the door to blue-jointed adult Xenomorphs. Green Mae wrecked the compromised synths, beamed her core to Mae Prime, and was destroyed when a drone punched her processor. On level 11, Dr. Elise Vogel walked Mae through the Company plan to make XX121 droppable and then recallable. Sealed boxes dumped adult Xenomorphs that moved in Jackal-like groups. Green Mae's core dump hit Mae Prime and dropped her. Infected workers cycled the airlock, and the rest of Blue Team died in vacuum. Rook held Mae by the ankle so she did not go out with them.
Memory Wipe And Guelph
Zula ordered the Fury's cryo pods away and sent Mae and Rook to the three generals with Red Mae's data. Rook held Mae's Deep Lock key. A David unit attacked her on a transit tram, and she killed him with Zula's bowie knife. They squeezed the Blackstar out of a closing hangar. A later fight ejected both of them, and the Deep Lock wipe took her memory.
The scavenger family on the Eumenides pulled her from a cryo pod in Krasue orbit and ran for Guelph Station, a stacked Jutou Combine dock in UPP space. She gave the name Mae. A clerk wrote Mae Henderson. Combine synth hunters called Extraktors, led by Captain Warrae, tore her jaw, probed her chipset, and jailed the Pope parents as leverage. She sold them Minos as a bioweapon site if they freed the family except Lenny Pope.
Red Mae And The Crash
Four weeks later the Extraktor ship Ariadne found Minos powered and the Fury locked on the umbilical. Lenny cut the inhibitor from Mae's throat, restarted the elevator with Rook, and Mae aimed the station engines at the training facility and the Mother Colony on Dimitar. Warrae tried to rip her jaw again in the engine-room hive. She cut his wrist, drove the knife into his neck, and left him for the drones.
On the planet, Red Mae stayed as bait with the last Good Boys, Pinpoints, and a buggy packed with C4. She shotgunned one drone off the hive mouth, tight-beamed her memories to Mae Prime, and detonated the charge in the Mother Colony doorway. Zula, injured Shipp, and four other humans reached the crawler. The Jackals did not confirm the planet Queen's death.
Final Fate
Mae Prime took Red Mae's last memories at the elevator doors. Six Jackals came up: Zula holding injured Shipp, medic Amutenya carrying Ackerman, plus Minkas and Konaan. Half the planet team did not come back, and no planet synths remained. Green Mae and Red Mae were gone. The Deep Lock wipe had taken the Blackstar stretch, and Mae kept the raid through the cores those copies had beamed to her.
Rook kept station AI Kaspar on a crash course, unlocked the umbilical, and they disconnected by hand. EWA was jammed, so the Fury used attitude thrusters until Lenny restored the systems. Minos dived with the Extraktors, the Ariadne, and the second Queen inside. Zula had proof discs of the station in her webbing. Rook left Mae the black-site files, including a juggernaut staging planet.
Lenny asked to be called Leonard Pope, and Zula gave him the vacant conduit post that had been Erynis's. A copy of Rook remained in Lenny's eye implant. Mae stayed on the Fury with both copies' memories. The Jackal cryo pods remained in space around Dimitar.
Relationship With Zula
Davis had Mae built for Zula after his death. Zula commanded the Jackals from the Fury and treated Mae as a daughter. Mae used the word mommy once, then stopped. Zula kept her off the first Shānmén landing, then accepted the later combat bodies after the first dropship was lost.
Before the Minos chase, Zula wiped EWA and Erynis so the ship would treat Mae as human, which also locked Mae out of the network. Mae copied a fight habit from Olivia Shipp and carried Zula's bowie knife. She hid the G1 and R1 copies from Zula, then sent Red Mae to stay with her on Dimitar when the elevator shut. Red Mae detonated the C4 in the hive mouth, and Zula and five other humans reached the elevator. Zula left Minos with proof discs and Mae Prime on the Fury.
Relationship With Davis
Mae and Davis never met. He arranged her with Higgs after years beside Zula in Aliens: Defiance, Aliens: Resistance, Aliens: Rescue, and Alien: Prototype, then died on LV-187 in the cockapoo body he had used as Scooby. A fragment of his voice stayed in Mae. Red Silk data traders had wrecked many of his files, but his Xenomorph logs and Zula records reached her.
On Guelph, after Warrae opened her chipset, that voice spoke from behind a deeper firewall and identified Rook as Father. Mae did not accept Rook as her father. The same voice tied her building to the colony war, then faded after Minos.
Confirmed Kills
On Shānmén she lost two field bodies and did not keep a solo adult Xenomorph tally. On Minos she killed a David unit with Zula's knife and later killed Warrae. Red Mae shot an infected woman who charged the Jackals, then shotgunned one drone off the hive door before the C4 blast. Green Mae wrecked compromised Green synths in command. Blue Team cocooned a first wave with poly grenades, with no number given. The planet Queen's death in that blast was not confirmed.
Behind The Scenes
Philippa Ballantine wrote Mae for Titan's Alien: Inferno's Fall, from a story with Clara Carija, published in July and August 2022. The novel introduced her as a few months old, in a combat body, after Davis's death. Alien: Seventh Circle, published on 7 January 2025, moved her into the custom human-like shell. She lost her memory, bargained the Extraktors back to Minos, and crashed the station.
Conclusion
Mae Hendricks was Zula and Davis's synthetic daughter. She lost combat bodies on Shānmén, lost her memory after Minos, and crashed the station. She left on the Righteous Fury with the Green and Red cores, and with a copy of Rook in Leonard Pope's implant.
