Yautja Drinking Habits: What Do The Predators Drink?
While the Predator franchise has shown the Yautja engaging in combat and ritual, their drinking habits are less commonly explored. However, various comics, games, and expanded lore offer glimpses into what the Yautja might drink and consume besides solid food. Just like their complex eating habits, the drinking behaviors of the Yautja reflect both practicality and cultural tradition.
C'ntlip, A Beer-Like Beverage

One of the few named Yautja drinks is C'ntlip, a beer-like alcoholic beverage. It is described as a fiery brew made from unidentified ingredients native to Yautja Prime. The drink induces a mildly altered state, suggesting its use in both ceremonial and casual settings. C'ntlip appears in several comic sources (including Aliens vs. Predator: Chained to Life and Death), where it is served during meals from jugs and possibly used in toasting rituals. In Aliens vs. Predator: Prey, Dachande shared c'ntlip with his half-brother Nei'hman-de during their time working together.

Soup-Like Stew

In Aliens vs. Predator: War, Machiko Noguchi observed a meal-making process aboard a Yautja ship that included a pink soup-like broth. This stew was consumed communally using spoons and accompanied by a jug of wine-like liquid. The drink likely served both as hydration and as a cultural element during group meals. It demonstrates that the Yautja prepare liquid-based meals in addition to solid food (often meat), which may also serve as a source of nutrition.
Blood Of Animals And Humans

While not a regular part of their diet, some Predators have been depicted consuming blood in a blood-lust state. In The Predator (2018), the Upgrade Predator bites into a human’s head, suggesting a brutal form of consumption that might have included drinking blood. Similarly, in hunting scenarios, Predators may consume the blood of wild animals as a source of sustenance or symbolic act. The best example of this is from Predator: Big Game, where a crazed Yautja slaughtered wild boars and sheep, consuming them with a mouth full of blood. However, these messy eating and drinking habits seem to be the exception during difficult hunts, rather than the rule.

Drinking Water

Though rarely shown, Yautja biology would logically require hydration, and it is assumed that they drink water or similar fluids to maintain their bodily functions. During extended hunts or in hot environments, staying hydrated would be essential. This basic need is likely fulfilled either directly through water or indirectly through the fluids present in raw meat or stews. The cover of Predator: Strange Roux features a Predator sitting in swamp water with his mouth open, hinting that he is drinking it. Later on in the story, the same Predator drowned in the swamp. Generally, Predators are shown to feel comfortable in water, and are great swimmers, as depicted in Predator: Hell And Hot Water.
Yautja Beer

As a nod to the franchise, a real-world craft beverage called "Blood of the Yautja" was produced as a limited-release beer. This luminous sour IPA glows under blacklight and mimics the color of Predator blood. While not canonical, it draws inspiration from C'ntlip and reflects fan interest in imagining Yautja-themed drinks. The beer can is illustrated with a picture of an angry Yautja in combat with a bloody shoulder wound.
Humans Drinking Yautja Blood

In rare and unusual cases, humans have consumed Predator blood or body parts. In Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal, a character named Gideon Suhn Lee claims to have extended his life by eating Predator hearts and drinking their blood. Similarly, in Predator: Strange Roux, a Cajun man killed a Yautja, fished his body out of a swamp, and cooked a soup using its head. He did not even realize the health benefits of eating Yautja, and was just interested in an exotic dish. Finally, Predator: Hunting Grounds revealed that Dutch Schaefer experimented with Yautja blood and DNA to heal from his injuries, and extend both his life and reflexes.
Conclusion
The drinking habits of the Yautja, though not as well-documented as their hunting practices, appear to be varied and occasionally ritualistic. From alcoholic beverages like C'ntlip to communal stews and rare cases of blood consumption, the Yautja demonstrate human-like drinking methods. Although the Predators enjoy a hot environment, they prefer moisture (such as in jungles) and can be assumed to need water for drinking as well.
