Storr's Boon was a Weyland-Yutani mining colony on LV-558. The gate sign called the site a mining facility, and the company kept a real mine running there as cover. In 2207, twenty-eight years after Aliens, a visibly sick Dr. Pearce sent a distress call from that mine that reached General Olivia Shipp on the UAS Endeavor, in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. Fireteam Banshee went down first to contain the outbreak and dropped out of contact after their dropship crashed, then Fireteam Chimaera followed them into a company town that hid Xenomorph work and human trials, and the yards were already full of blood when the second team reached the pad.
LV-558 From Orbit
From orbit, LV-558 showed a thick cloud deck with at least one wide storm turning in those clouds, and colony lights still visible behind the weather on the night side. The Endeavor came off FTL on final approach to that limb after Pearce's call, five years after the same ship had fought on LV-895. Those lights meant the colony still had power when the ship arrived, and Shipp briefed the drop while it hung over that dark side.
The Colony
The main settlement sat in a dark valley of stacked decks, walkways, and floodlit platforms. Operations looked out through a wide window onto that yard, with a tall stack rising over the works. By the time Fireteam Chimaera reached the pad, the Weyland-Yutani welcome sign already had holes in the face, and the corridors behind it were dirty, inhabited space rather than an empty ruin. Banshee's crash left Captain Feiyan Ko, Lieutenant Piper, and the synthetic Esther 1089-12/A7 missing inside that complex. Chimaera crossed the same yards more than once as weather and light changed, and pulled the missing Marines from the rooms where they had holed up. Weyland-Yutani combat synthetics were already in the halls, fighting Xenomorphs and Marines at the same time.
The Mining Site
Away from the town, the mine sat in a red canyon with a pad, a crane, and a small ship on the deck, the public face of Storr's Boon. The company kept the extractors running so the settlement read as a frontier mine, not a lab. A circular metal face was set into the cliff behind those cranes, a buried Engineer hull that the later Ancient Anomaly drop went after. The miners hit that wreck by accident, at least as Pearce took it, though Weyland-Yutani may already have known something sat under the rock. The ship held a dead Engineer, and Pearce used that body to make human-Engineer hybrids.
Atmosphere Processor
An atmosphere processor stood over Storr's Boon, a riveted stack with a blue column of light off the crown, the same kind of shake-and-bake plant that stood over Hadley's Hope, built to push thin air toward something humans could work in for longer shifts. From Operations the stack was the tall mark over the valley, and up close it filled the walkways. During Rescue and Recovery, Fireteam Chimaera had to reset that processor and hold sealed rooms while the plant came back up, then pull Ko, Piper, and Esther out under a last rush of aliens. The fight stayed on the decks around the stack, and the plant did not explode the way the Hadley's Hope processor did.
Xenomorph Outbreak
In 2207, Storr's Boon was already a research front when Dr. Pearce's distress call reached the Endeavor. Pearce looked the way she did on that first transmission because the company had been running human trials with the hive, not only mining ore. Fireteam Banshee went in first under Captain Feiyan Ko and vanished after the crash. A transferred Marine, callsign Hotshot, joined Fireteam Chimaera, and Shipp briefed the drops in person before pilot Raptor took them planetside.
Chimaera fought through the colony halls against Warriors, Drones, and heavier castes such as the Warden, plus the company synthetics that were already shooting into the same rooms. After Rescue and Recovery they left the town for later drops on the moon, then came back to the hive at the end of Final Endeavor. Pearce tried to control the Xenomorphs on LV-558. The Queen drove its tail through her chest, then Fireteam Chimaera killed the Queen and Shipp shot the wounded Pearce.
Conclusion
Storr's Boon was the Weyland-Yutani mining colony on LV-558, a company town that hid Xenomorph work behind a working mine and an atmosphere processor. Banshee vanished on the first drop, and Chimaera reset the plant, pulled Ko, Piper, and Esther out, and later killed the Queen before Shipp shot the wounded Pearce.
