During the events of Predator: Badlands, Dek was marked by one of the Kalisk's offspring, a smaller creature later known as Bud. This mark caused the adult Kalisk to hesitate during its battle with Dek, recognizing that he had interacted with one of its young. Bud later assisted Dek during the chaos at the Weyland-Yutani compound and eventually remained at his side.
