Dead by Daylight is Behaviour Interactive's asymmetric survival horror game: one Killer hunts four Survivors for a force called the Entity. CHAPTER 29: Alien, announced 1 August 2023 and released 29 August 2023, added the Xenomorph as Killer, Ellen Ripley as Survivor, and a USCSS Nostromo map. The crossover is a licensed event outside main Alien / AvP continuity. In The Fog lore, most cosmetic skins represent different Xenomorph individuals; the Bloody and Inoculated looks are the clear exceptions. Below are the major types, from the default drone and scarred Grid look to the Queen, Clone, and later Fog-only variants.

Default Xenomorph

Default Xenomorph Killer from Dead by Daylight CHAPTER 29: Alien

The default Xenomorph is the CHAPTER 29 Killer model: the black Drone from Alien (1979), also known as Big Chap. Fog lore says the Entity plucked it from space after Ripley ejected it from the Narcissus, then forced it to hunt abducted humans in Trial Grounds. In matches it uses a tunnel network, a tail attack, and Perks such as Rapid Brutality, Alien Instinct, and Ultimate Weapon. Visually it is the clean baseline every later outfit is measured against: elongated dome, dorsal tubes, biomechanical skin, and no costume gimmicks.

Bloody Xenomorph

Bloody prestige Xenomorph outfit from Dead by Daylight

The Bloody Xenomorph is the Killer's prestige reward set rather than a store collection piece. Pieces such as Bloody Xenomorph, Spattered Mesoskeleton, and Stained Arm cover the default body in survivor blood, with store text calling it a perfect organism and instinctual killer. Unlike Grid, Queen, or Clone, it does not stand in for a separate individual. It is the same Narcissus drone after a successful hunt, useful for players who want the classic silhouette with a bloodied finish.

Grid Xenomorph

Grid Xenomorph outfit in Dead by Daylight

The Grid Xenomorph launched with the Alien Collection as a rare Xenomorph Aberrations outfit. Store copy calls it a fierce opponent scarred from combat, with a Hardened Carapace, Ridged Mesoskeleton, and Cruel Hand. The net-burn pattern comes from the Grid Alien of Alien vs. Predator, the Warrior left marked after a Predator net fight in the Antarctic pyramid. In Dead by Daylight lore the scars even carry green Yautja blood from Chopper, so the cosmetic is one of the few Killer looks that points straight at AvP rather than the main Alien films.

Xenomorph Queen

Xenomorph Queen legendary outfit in Dead by Daylight

The Xenomorph Queen is a legendary outfit released with the Alien Collection on launch day. Store copy calls her Mother, Hive Leader, and the highest of lifeforms, with a Crested Head, Queen Mesoskeleton, and Devastating Claw. In game she keeps the Killer's moveset but swaps the drone body for the crest, larger frame, and royal silhouette from Aliens. It is the clearest film-accurate caste upgrade available for the character in Dead by Daylight.

Xenomorph Clone

Xenomorph Clone outfit from Dead by Daylight Alien Collection

The Xenomorph Clone also launched with CHAPTER 29 as a very rare Alien Collection outfit. Its description calls it the wretched result of multiple genetic experiments, with a Conjoined Head, Warped Torso, and Gnarled Claw. The doubled cranial mass and wiry body echo the cloning and hybridization experiments of Alien: Resurrection, where the United Systems Military tried to manufacture controllable Aliens. In The Fog it reads as a failed lab specimen strong enough to escape its restraints and keep hunting.

Inoculated Xenomorph

Inoculated blighted Xenomorph from Dead by Daylight Hallowed Blight

The Inoculated Xenomorph arrived on 24 October 2023 during the Haunted by Daylight Halloween event as part of the Hallowed Blight collection. Store text says the serum slowly circulated through the perfect organism, eating away at its body, with a Bursting Carapace, Infected Mesoskeleton, and Contagious Claw. Golden blight growths rupture the black shell, tying the Alien into Dead by Daylight's plague aesthetic rather than film canon. Like Bloody, it is treated as a mutated look on the same Killer rather than a separate Xenomorph individual.

Juggernaut Xenomorph

Juggernaut Xenomorph Alien Reimagined outfit in Dead by Daylight

The Juggernaut Xenomorph joined the Alien Reimagined set on 7 November 2024. Official copy describes a deadly creature fused with parts of an ancient ship, with a Cabled Skull, Jockey Mesoskeleton, and Biomechanical Claw. The look borrows heavily from Space Jockey Xenomorph biomechanics and Engineer ship textures in Prometheus: fossilized ridges, cable-like growths, and derelict-hull plating wrapped around a drone frame. Lore blurbs place it crawling through a cargo bay of dormant eggs and attacking anyone who approaches the crash site.

Molting Xenomorph

Molting Xenomorph from the Chrysalis collection in Dead by Daylight

The Molting Xenomorph released with the Chrysalis collection on 20 May 2025. Its description says the creature approached maturity as dead, hardened skin began to split, with a Coated Head, Swarmed Mesoskeleton, and Silk Claw. Insects break out from under the shedding carapace, turning a molt into a swarming visual effect instead of a clean shed. The look keeps the molt unfinished: cracked old shell, new growth underneath, and insects still spilling out as it hunts.

Deep Sea Xenomorph

Deep Sea Xenomorph aquatic outfit from Dead by Daylight Waterfront Massacre

The Deep Sea Xenomorph arrived on 17 July 2025 in the Waterfront Massacre collection. Store lore places it in the murky depths of a moon's ocean, where an aquatic host was torn open by the offspring growing inside it. Pieces include a Bioluminescent Carapace, Scaled Mesoskeleton, and Webbed Claw, and the text says the newborn adapted from deep pressure to surface gravity after swimming ashore. The design is original Fog material more than a film reprint, though aquatic Aliens already exist elsewhere in franchise media, including Kenner toys and older Aliens comics.

Conclusion

Dead by Daylight's Xenomorph roster starts with Big Chap from the Narcissus and then branches into other individuals, film castes, AvP scars, and Fog-only subspecies. Grid, Queen, Clone, Juggernaut, Molting, and Deep Sea each stand as their own specimen in Fog lore, while Bloody and Inoculated stay alternate looks on the same drone. Together they make CHAPTER 29's Xenomorph a short gallery of game Xenomorph types, each with a distinct look on the same Killer moveset.
