Charlotte Blake: The Alien Isolation 2 Protagonist
Charlotte Blake is the playable protagonist of Alien: Isolation 2, the survival horror sequel Creative Assembly and Sega revealed in 2026 for a 2027 release. She is a Weyland-Yutani manager on the Yutani side of the company, sent to the storm-hit colony world LV-921 and the outpost Kurosaki Station a few months after the 2137 outbreak in Alien: Isolation. In the public prologue she came out of eight months of cryosleep, entered a crashed hazard laboratory from Sevastopol Station with Otto, and the Xenomorph sealed in that module got loose. Creative director Alistair Hope used her full name at Brasil Game Show in October 2026, and the studio has not shown what happens to her after that opening.
Biography
The Survey On LV-921
Blake came out of eight months of cryosleep for a Weyland-Yutani survey on LV-921, and she talked with Cole and Otto about that long sleep and about her mother on Earth. Cole was the bearded crewmate who did not want the team to stop when a wreck showed in the trees, while Otto wanted parts from the same hull. A storm was crossing the forest during that argument, and the low ground was close to flooding, which meant a stop at the wreck could leave them in the open.
Blake decided they would stop, because she was the manager on the survey and Cole and Otto were the crew with her. She treated the wreck as a search for survivors and as salvage for the company, then went to the hatch with Otto while Cole walked away. The two of them entered the hull in the rain on LV-921, while the low ground behind them was close to flooding.
The Hazard Laboratory
The wreck was the hazard laboratory Marshal Jethro Waits had ejected from Sevastopol Station during Alien: Isolation, months before the survey. Amanda Ripley had been in that module with the Xenomorph, and she got out while the creature stayed aboard. The section then came down in the forest on LV-921. Blake had been sent to Kurosaki Station against her will after an earlier mistake, and the reveal trailer played a Japanese company voice telling her that the posting was her last chance. She treated the survey as her chance to answer for that warning.
Blake entered the module while the main power was out and brought the systems back online. The Xenomorph that had come down inside the wreck then got loose among the people of the colony around Kurosaki Station. Opening the module put that outbreak on her, on top of the mistake that had sent Blake to the outpost. Hands-on builds shown through 2026 stop in that opening hunt, so the fates of Blake, Cole, and Otto are not in the public record.
Personality
Blake carried a Weyland-Yutani manager's authority on the survey, and Cole and Otto addressed her that way. She overruled Cole when he refused the wreck, and Otto followed her through the hatch. Alistair Hope described her as someone who had never encountered a Xenomorph, so LV-921 and Kurosaki Station were her first meeting with the species. Once the creature was loose in the module, the company rank did not keep it away from her.
The reveal trailer put a Japanese company voice over her arrival at Kurosaki Station. The line was that Blake had made a mistake and that the outpost was her last chance. She had been ordered there against her will, and her aim on LV-921 was to redeem that record by handling the crashed laboratory for Weyland-Yutani. When she opened the module and let the Xenomorph out, that plan failed in the first stretch of story Creative Assembly has released. What she did wrong before the survey has not been released.
Behind The Scenes
Creative Assembly talked about an Alien: Isolation sequel years before Charlotte Blake was named in public. In December 2014 lead game designer Gary Napper said the studio had discussed a follow-up that would keep a single Alien and give the player more ways to use the environment. In 2015 studio director Tim Heaton said Sega might not fund another project that large after the first game sold about 2.1 million copies. In April 2017 Eurogamer reported that a rumor of Isolation 2 was false, that a sequel was not in development, and that most of the original design team had left the studio.
Alistair Hope told The Guardian that he had thought about a sequel while the team was finishing the first game, and that production started around the tenth anniversary. He announced early work on 7 October 2024. Sega and Creative Assembly then showed Alien: Isolation 2 at Summer Game Fest on 5 June 2026, with a new protagonist, a storm-hit colony, and Kurosaki Station. At Brasil Game Show that October, Hope gave the lead's name as Charlotte Blake and said she had no history with the creature. Laura Mauterer and principal environment artist Archie Whitehead described her at Gamescom as a Yutani employee sent to the station against her will. The sequel is in development on Unreal Engine 5 for a 2027 release, and no voice actor has been announced.
Conclusion
Charlotte Blake is the Weyland-Yutani manager Creative Assembly wrote as the lead of Alien: Isolation 2. In the released prologue she was on LV-921 a few months after Sevastopol, with Cole and Otto, under a last-chance order she had not chosen. She entered the hazard laboratory Marshal Jethro Waits had ejected, and the Xenomorph from that module got out toward Kurosaki Station, which is as far as the published story goes.
Sega has the game in development for a 2027 release, and Alistair Hope presented Blake as that sequel's protagonist when he gave her full name at Brasil Game Show in 2026. Until the game is out, her public record is the cryosleep survey, the laboratory she opened, and the outbreak that followed. The studio has not shown whether she lives through the hunt on LV-921.
