R'Kyn: The Little Miss Nightmare Predator
R'Kyn was a female Yautja in Peter Briggs's Little Miss Nightmare, collected in Predator: Eyes of the Demon in 2022. She belonged to clan P'Rekh and studied other cultures after she left sport hunting. She followed bomber Tracey Dahl from Lake Champlain to Prague and Rome, cut off her head in a public square, and left without being caught.
Biography
R'Hyn Dies On The Crystal Climb
R'Kyn and her sibling R'Hyn were young bloods when they climbed a quartz spire on their own to catch an Arcturian Sickleridge, a large scavenging bird with a hooked, scythe-shaped beak. They entered a narrow crystal crack they had not studied, high in the clouds on a world with four moons, and a parasitic weed called serraweed trapped them. R'Kyn was cloaked and could not shout without drawing the circling birds, so she waited for a rescue ship while the Sickleridge family pecked R'Hyn to death in the open above her. The honor code treated a badly planned climb as a risk to the hunting party.
R'Kyn returned later, killed the mother bird, and tore out a saw-edged beak as long as she was tall. She used that beak to kill the young and mounted it at home. After that she spent her time on research and on training later young bloods. She left sport hunting even though female Yautja in her clan were often the more aggressive hunters. She also studied a Predator civil war that wiped out other species as collateral and angered the Elders on the Predator homeworld. R'Kyn read the beaten clans' hunt records and found that most of those veterans had hunted on Earth. She treated that as a possible spread of human madness into Yautja factions. She visited Earth from the late twentieth century onward and studied human networks for clan P'Rekh.
R'Kyn Kills Mendoza At Lake Champlain
The human R'Kyn hunted was Tracey Dahl, a bomber from Burlington, Vermont, who also used the names Mallory Knox and Cathy Ames. She bombed a packed Mass at a Washington basilica, then a Houston megachurch and a Michigan mosque on the same day, and thirteen devices at a million-women march killed nearly seven hundred people. After that march she paid fixer Parry Mendoza for a fake corpse, false records, and a staged crash on the VT-9. R'Kyn reached Mendoza first at the Dahl family boathouse on Lake Champlain.
Mendoza was dead when Dahl arrived. He hung upside down from a tree, stripped to the waist, skinned, and missing his head. R'Kyn was close enough for Dahl to hear her, and she copied a human song while Dahl looked at the body. Dahl left for Europe after that, had surgery in Switzerland, hid for a year, and then bombed a flower market in Paris.
R'Kyn Kills The Arms Crew In Prague
Eight days before the Rome arrest attempt, Dahl went to a warehouse in Prague's Zlin district for a new bomb stock built from her father's old stores in Marseille. The crew brought her in under the name Cathy Ames. R'Kyn attacked while they sat at the tables. A net cut Werner apart, a smart disc took Lloyd's head and then hit the German buyer's shoulder, and a wrist harpoon went through Tamas as he tried to pull Dahl out.
The driver fired a pistol and nicked R'Kyn's arm, drawing green blood. A dart from the wrist gauntlet stopped the shooting, and a taser hit the mesh netting long enough to show a helmeted giant in plate armor. Plasma fire then set the stored explosives off. Dahl escaped with one backpack, crashed through the gate as the warehouse blew, dumped the wrecked car in a river, and took trains toward Rome with most of her bombs gone.
R'Kyn Watches The Rome Trap From The Roof
R'Kyn watched Rome from the Colosseum roof and ran a small cloaked drone over the city that searched for Dahl by scent. After several days the drone found her and sent her movements back. Senior ops manager Trinh Hue Dang had followed the same bomber from Washington through France after Slovak bomb-maker Stefan Horvath gave the Mallory Knox name. R'Kyn saw that Trinh had reached Dahl's new flat first and changed her plan.
Trinh emptied the nearby buildings, posted snipers, and put drones over the Trastevere street. R'Kyn sat cloaked on the roof opposite Dahl's first-floor apartment and copied bird calls while a human drone circled the roof. Her helmet's heat vision showed armored men on the balconies and empty rooms around Dahl, so she started her own drone and watched the hallway team move to the door.
R'Kyn Kills The Tac Team In Trastevere
A rooftop agent came up behind her as the team broke Dahl's door. R'Kyn dropped off the roof and used the drone to cut the American drones and radios. She killed the balcony gunner first, then broke through the apartment wall while Valtersson tried to cuff Dahl. Net, disc, and plasma fire killed most of the team in the room, including one man who fired until a caster bolt went through him and the television behind him.
The team leader hit her cloak with a steel baton. She cut the stick and put wristblades through his back. Dahl went through the broken wall, picked up a dropped rifle, and shot that pinned leader on her way out. A second agent came off the floor with a knife. R'Kyn knocked the blade away, took punches that tore muscle in her side, crushed his neck, threw him into a wall, and followed Dahl into the street.
Laundry Lines Tear Off R'Kyn's Helmet
Dahl stepped in front of a yellow Fiat, shot the Italian driver in the head, and took the car with her last backpack. R'Kyn landed on the roof, put blades through the metal, and rode the car as Dahl turned into an alley. Laundry lines caught the bio-helmet under the chin, pulled it off, and cut her mouth. The lines then yanked her off the car before it left the alley. Trinh and officer Powell found a working truck and joined the chase. Dahl shot Powell through the windshield and killed him.
R'Kyn Beheads Dahl In The Piazza
The Fiat hit an archway, flipped, and slid roof-down into a wedding in the square beyond. Trinh swerved around a truck, rolled her own vehicle, and wrecked it in a bus stop. Dahl hung upside down with the backpack and the rifle in reach, and Trinh tried to talk her out of the wreck while a drone filmed the scene. R'Kyn destroyed that drone, cut off Dahl's head, copied Dahl's voice, and left. Trinh fainted, Johnny Ortiz was found dazed at the wrecked apartment, and most of the Rome entry team were dead.
Appearance And Weapons
The Prague crew saw a helmeted giant with mottled skin and segmented armor plates over mesh netting. A taser shot made the cloak fail long enough to show that outline, and a pistol nick spilled green blood from the arm. Trinh later saw her face without the helmet. R'Kyn copied bird calls on the Rome roof, a human song at the Champlain boathouse, and Dahl's voice in the square.
R'Kyn's Earth kit was a cloak, a plasmacaster, a smart disc, a net, a wrist harpoon, wristblades, a bio-helmet, and a wrist bracer that ran a small cloaked drone. The drone found Dahl by scent, listened at her window, and disabled the American drones and radios with one pulse.
Confirmed Kills
Her named kills in Little Miss Nightmare were five, and the Italian Fiat driver and Powell were Dahl's kills, not hers. The German buyer, the warehouse driver, and most of the Trastevere team also died in those fights without being named.
- Parry Mendoza: beheaded, flayed, and hung at the Lake Champlain boathouse before Dahl arrived.
- Werner: net at the Prague warehouse.
- Lloyd: smart disc through the neck.
- Tamas: wrist harpoon through the gut as he tried to pull Dahl out.
- Tracey Dahl: beheaded in the Rome piazza after the last drone went down.
- Unnamed Prague and Rome dead: the German buyer, the warehouse driver, other warehouse men, and most of the Trastevere team.

La'vindi killed Zalande on Fourth-Salturna Exodus and left clan H'ppattah with Cali. A'kael took three first-hunters to Earth and came back as clan leader. Donatiki led four unblooded on an Earth survey and left after a live birth at a Hastings reenactment. Ak'kili hunted three bad bloods on a desert world and killed her son Dakdwade. Ca'toll ran the LV-363 blooding after both other captains died and went home with three young bloods.
Conclusion
R'Kyn was a clan P'Rekh hunter who left sport hunting after R'Hyn died on the crystal climb. She followed bomber Tracey Dahl from Lake Champlain through Prague to Rome, cut off her head in a public square, and left without being caught. Trinh Hue Dang and Johnny Ortiz lived through that last fight, and most of the Rome entry team died.
