The Wolverine Xenomorphs, called the Logan Hybrids by Cable, were the clawed Xenomorphs that burst from the X-Men's Wolverine in Marvel's Alien vs. X-Men, the 2026 crossover written by Kieron Gillen. They were not a single creature. The first one came out of Logan aboard the ship of Orbis Stellaris, and his healing factor let the hive use him again and again as a host after the ship crashed on Earth. Each one grew three metal claws like his own, and by the second issue Cable warned that they duplicated every four hours.
Biography
Wolverine Facehugged Aboard The Ship
Logan went into deep space with Cyclops, Beast, Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde to take a Phoenix egg from the villain Orbis Stellaris, and he killed Orbis aboard the alien's ship. The team found a chamber of Xenomorph eggs instead of the egg they wanted. Cyclops died in a splash of acid blood, and Emma and Kitty were taken by Facehuggers. While Beast carried the women toward the Blackbird, Logan stayed behind to hold the swarm back at a door they could not seal in time.
Beast later recorded that he really thought Logan could win. The acid was too much for him, and it burned the flesh from his body until his ribs, arms and claws showed through. A Facehugger took him while he lay in the wreckage of the creatures he had cut down. Beast carried everyone back aboard the ship of Orbis Stellaris after a stray splash of acid burned a hole through the Blackbird, and he hoped the vacuum had taken the last of the parasites.
The First Clawed Chestburster
Beast laid his three teammates on tables and tried to work out how to remove the parasites without killing their hosts. The Facehugger came off Logan first, and he said he felt fine, even better than ever, which Beast later admitted should have made him suspicious. While they searched the vault of alien artifacts on the ship, they found that Orbis Stellaris really had owned a Phoenix egg. Shortly after that, Logan said he felt off, and a Chestburster tore out through his chest in a spray of blood.
Logan was expected to recover, so Beast went after the small creature with a flashlight, hoping to capture it for study. The hybrid grew extraordinarily fast, faster than Logan's healing factor could close the wound it had left. By the time Beast found it in the ship's corridors, it was a full-sized adult Xenomorph with three long claws sliding from each hand. Beast's log broke off soon after, and the comic did not show what became of this first Wolverine Xenomorph.
Attack On Xavier's School
The ship of Orbis Stellaris crashed outside Xavier's School in Westchester, and on a night of heavy rain the Xenomorphs came out of the wreck and attacked the mutants on the school grounds. One of them roared over the lawn as three metal claws slid from its hand with the same sound Logan's claws made. Its acid-blooded kin melted part of the steel arm of Colossus, and the people at the school ran inside and put the building into lockdown. The attack showed the survivors that the creatures had taken more than flesh from the lost team.
During the raid, the Xenomorphs dragged away Jamie Madrox, the Multiple Man. One of his duplicates followed into the crashed ship and watched a Xenomorph phase like Kitty Pryde and show claws like Logan's before it took Jamie. Inside the hive, the duplicate found the original Wolverine alive and cocooned in resin among the eggs. Logan cut part of the resin free with his claws and tried to warn the young mutant, but another Facehugger clamped onto Logan's face before he could finish, and he could only groan that it was happening again.
Breeding In The Queen's Nest
The nest belonged to the Emma Frost Xenomorph Queen, the crystal-bodied Xenomorph Queen that grew from Emma. Another embryo burst from Logan's chest in the resin, while other cocooned victims hung around him. The diamond Queen lifted the newborn in her claws, and it already had tiny claws of its own. A full-grown clawed drone crouched below her among the hive. Because Logan healed from every wound, the hive could implant him again each time, which turned him into a living source of new hybrids rather than a host who died once.
In the second issue, Wolverine woke in the nest with yet another Facehugger on his face and saw the Queen rise over him crackling with psychic light. Cable, who arrived from the future with a strike team, explained that the Xenomorphs took on the genetic properties of whatever they incubated inside. He called the clawed offspring the Logan hybrids, said they were monstrous and warned that they duplicated every four hours. His team counted twenty-four aliens, and feared the hive would reach thirty thousand once it used Jamie Madrox as a host.
Powers & Abilities
A Wolverine Xenomorph looked much like a dark Warrior Xenomorph, with a smooth domed head, a ribbed body and a long tail. Its difference was in the hands, where three long metal claws extended over the fingers the way they did from Logan's fists. The claws were drawn silver and shining like his adamantium ones, and the creatures used them to slash through the mutants at Xavier's School. Even the newborn Chestbursters had small versions of the claws, so the trait was there from birth rather than grown later.
The first hybrid also grew to adult size within a short time aboard the ship, faster than Logan himself could heal, and Beast treated that speed as the clearest sign of how dangerous the creature was. Cable's warning that the Logan hybrids duplicated every four hours made them the main threat to Westchester until the Madrox plan. Like other Xenomorph hybrids, they carried acid blood that could burn even organic steel. They showed no sign of Logan's mind or memories and followed the Queen.
Behind The Scenes
The Wolverine Xenomorphs were created for Alien vs. X-Men by writer Kieron Gillen and artist Geraldo Borges, with colors by Andrew Dalhouse and letters by Travis Lanham. Marvel published the four-issue crossover with 20th Century Studios, releasing the first issue on September 30, 2026, and the second on October 28, 2026. Reviewers singled out the idea of the Queen turning Logan into a factory for embryos, and Screen Rant described the hybrids as Xenomorphs carrying Wolverine's adamantium claws. The preview for the third issue promised a fight between mutant and Xenomorph.
The hybrids followed the idea, seen with the dog-born creature of Alien 3, that a Xenomorph took traits from its host, and they joined the newest Xenomorph types in the Alien comics. Marvel had earlier mixed a mutant and a Queen in the Mr. Sinister Xenomorph of Aliens vs. Avengers, where an older Logan fought the hive on Mars. Logan's survival of repeated bursts also made him one of the rare cases of surviving a Chestburster. Wolverine himself had already met the Yautja in Predator vs. Wolverine.
Conclusion
The Wolverine Xenomorphs were a brood of clawed hybrids rather than a single alien. The first burst from Logan aboard the ship of Orbis Stellaris and outgrew his healing factor, and more came from him in the nest of the Emma Frost Queen after the ship crashed outside Xavier's School. They raided the school grounds and helped take Jamie Madrox. By the end of the second issue of Alien vs. X-Men, Logan remained a captive host and the Logan hybrids were still multiplying.
