LV Planets: Life Viable Surveyed Worlds
The LV prefix is read as Life Viable, a survey mark for a moon or planet that can hold human life. The number is a serial from company charts, the same kind of list that named 300 surveyed worlds in Aliens. This list covers those coded rocks, from LV-426 and LV-223 around Calpamos to later numbers such as LV-178, LV-363, and LV-895. Prison worlds and named colonies without an LV code stay with the wider Alien universe planets.
LV-895 was the jungle world of Aliens: Fireteam Elite and Weston Ochse's Aliens: Infiltrator. Weyland-Yutani ran Pala Station on the surface and the old Seegson refinery Katanga in orbit. In 2202 the UAS Endeavor fought the Katanga hive, disabled Asset Zero, and killed the Pathogen Queen in the ruins.

LV-363 was the rift world of Weston Ochse and Yvonne Navarro's 2022 novel Aliens vs. Predators: Rift War. A cartel harvested Khatura pollen on the rim while a Yautja party blooded unblooded in the gashes. Facehuggers on local riftwings produced Xenowings that Ca'toll left on the planet.

LV-178 was the Outer Rim mining planet of Alien: Out of the Shadows, later terraformed and settled as New Galveston in Alien: Sea of Sorrows. The same rock held the Kelland trimonite dig, a buried non-terrestrial ship, and the black-sand Sea of Sorrows.

LV-426, also known as Acheron, is one of three moons orbiting the gas giant Calpamos in the Zeta Reticuli system. Despite its inhospitable conditions, LV-426 has become a significant location due to its connection with the Xenomorph species and the events surrounding the ill-fated Weyland-Yutani expeditions.
