Blade Runner Detectives: The Officers Who Retire Replicants
A blade runner is a police detective whose job is to find replicants living illegally among humans and retire them. In Ridley Scott's 1982 film, the work fell to a special unit of the Los Angeles police, whose officers relied on the Voight-Kampff test to tell a replicant from a person by its involuntary emotional responses. The detectives on this list carried a badge and a license to kill, and each case tested how far they were willing to go. Their stories also connect to the wider Blade Runner characters of the series.
Dave Holden was the LAPD blade runner shot by Leon Kowalski during a Voight-Kampff test in Blade Runner. He survived on life support, became a captain in Revelations and the RPG's Deputy Chief, and was shot again by a Leon replicant in K.W. Jeter's sequel novels.

Iris Knaught was an LAPD blade runner in K. W. Jeter's 2000 novel Blade Runner 4: Eye and Talon. After Captain Bryant's death she hunted Eldon Tyrell's living owl, Scrappy, through monsoon Los Angeles, on a division bounty higher than the pay for killing a replicant.
