The Splitter Predator was a male Yautja Young Blood, the son of Hook and the brother of Pig Iron, in the Dark Horse comic Alien vs. Predator: Thicker Than Blood. Armed with a crackling plasma whip, he slaughtered the passengers on the lido deck of the USSC Double Down, then freed his trapped father by cutting away his crushed arm and leg. He died when the Xenomorph his brother had kept captive tore off his head, and Hook later killed the creature with his son's whip.
Biography
The Hunting Party
Splitter hunted with his father and brother in an uncharted system that the Double Down crossed during its luxury cruise. When the family's ship closed on the liner, Pig Iron stayed aboard with a captive adult Xenomorph, while Splitter and Hook moved into the passenger decks. Hook went after the crew in the forward lounge, and Splitter took the holographic lido deck, where passengers in swimsuits were still treating the alarm as a drill.
The Lido Massacre
He leapt into the crowd on the artificial beach and swung his whip through the bathers, cutting them down as they ran between the palm trees. Maria, the off-duty daughter of the ship's captain, had laughed off the warning of her android brother Tyler until the hunter began his slaughter. The whip struck down a fleeing woman beside the siblings as they ran for a service lift, and the children escaped as the doors closed.
Saving His Father
While Splitter cleared the lido, Hook chased the children into another lift, and the moving car crushed the arm and leg he had forced through its doors. Splitter found his father hanging in the shaft, pulled him free and laid him on the deck before the children could come back for him. The ruined limbs could not be saved, so he cut them away with his whip, sealing the wounds as the energy passed through them and leaving Hook alive but unconscious among the maimed hunters of his kind.
The Fight With The Xenomorph
Aboard the hunter ship, Tyler unlocked the restraints of the captive Xenomorph, which killed Pig Iron and escaped into the liner. It found Splitter standing over his unconscious father, and the young hunter met it alone, lashing at the creature as it sprang at him across the lounge. Maria and Tyler, who had returned for Hook because they needed his hand to work the controls of the hunter ship, saw the duel and feared the creature would tear both hunters apart and come after them next.
Death
The Xenomorph pushed through the arcs of the whip, overpowered Splitter and tore off his head, holding the mask and dreads in one claw and a severed arm in the other. While it stood over his body, the children dragged the unconscious Hook into a service lift, leaving the elder as the last of the three hunters. In the final fight in the lido garden, Hook took up his son's whip and used it to kill the Xenomorph.
Weapons And Equipment
Splitter's signature weapon was a long, segmented whip that crackled with green energy, sliced through flesh and seared the wounds it made. He wore a ridged silver bio-mask, heavy silver armor plates over a mesh bodysuit and long dreadlocks bound with metal rings. The same whip that killed the passengers of the Double Down also saved the life of Hook, first by cutting away his limbs and later by killing the Xenomorph.
Behind The Scenes
The Splitter Predator was created by writer Jeremy Barlow and artist Doug Wheatley, with colors by Rain Beredo, letters by Michael Heisler and covers by Chun Lo. Dark Horse Comics published the first two issues, which contain all of his scenes, in December 2019 and January 2020, and the full story was collected in a trade paperback in November 2020. Splitter is never named inside the comic, and his name, like those of Hook and Pig Iron, comes from Barlow.
Conclusion
The Splitter Predator spent his short hunt butchering bathers on the Double Down and saving his father from the lift. He died headless at the claws of the Xenomorph his brother had captured, and his whip became the weapon that finally killed it in Hook's hands.
