Spray Snake ("Squirt"): Guide To Imbre Anguis

By | Published February 17, 2026

The Spray Snake, formally known as the Imbre Anguis, was a snake-like species native to the planet Genna. These small but dangerous creatures possessed the unique ability to emit two separate fluids that combined into a highly corrosive acid. One individual, nicknamed "Squirt", formed an unlikely bond with the Yautja hunter Dek and was used as a living organic plasmacaster during the events of Predator: Badlands. Squirt later sacrificed itself to save Dek during the final battle with Weyland-Yutani.

Imbre Anguis were indigenous to Genna, where they inhabited riverbanks and cliffside environments. Though small, they were highly territorial when threatened. Early encounters showed them attacking intruders with acidic spit capable of dissolving advanced synthetic materials. Despite their aggressive defensive behavior, the species demonstrated surprising social traits. When fed, Imbre Anguis displayed friendliness and even emotional bonding, forming symbiotic relationships with other Genna creatures.

Biology And Habitat

Spray Snakes possessed elongated, eel-like bodies with dark purple or brown hides. Along their undersides ran numerous short, paddle-like legs, allowing them to navigate both water and rocky terrain. Two fin-like protrusions extended from the front of their heads, aiding movement and balance. Their most distinctive biological feature was their dual-nosed snout, with each nostril producing a different fluid. When expelled together, these compounds formed a powerful acid capable of rapidly corroding armor and machinery, including synthetics manufactured by Weyland-Yutani. Spray Snakes primarily resided near rivers, where they ambushed prey or defended their territory.

Encounters With Dek Predator

Dek first encountered multiple Spray Snakes while trekking through the "squirt canyon" alongside the synthetic companion Thia. The creatures spat acid at the pair until Thia distracted them with berries, allowing safe passage. Later, while preparing an assault on the Weyland-Yutani base, Dek returned to the river and offered food to one of the Spray Snakes. This individual, soon called Squirt, bonded with him and followed willingly, establishing a rare interspecies partnership.

Spray Attack From "Organic Shoulder Cannon"

Squirt was secured to Dek's shoulder and used as a makeshift living weapon. During the assault on the Weyland-Yutani facility, Squirt's corrosive spit destroyed numerous combat synthetics with devastating efficiency. Dek also used Squirt's acid to trigger nearby puffer plants filled with explosive worms, creating a chain reaction that eliminated dozens of enemies at once. This improvised strategy showed how Dek adapted to fighting without his original weapons and gear.

Squirt's Sacrifice

Squirt killed by Tessa's shoulder cannon

During the climactic battle, Tessa arrived in a Super Power Loader wielding Dek's original shoulder cannon. As she fired, Squirt leapt directly into the blast path. The Spray Snake absorbed the impact, sacrificing itself to save Dek's life. Ironically, this was a fight of shoulder cannons, which the organic one lost. However, Dek avenged Squirt's death by taking down the Super Power Loader and Tessa with the help of the Kalisk, another one of Genna's creatures.

Conclusion

The Imbre Anguis were dangerous native predators of Genna, but Squirt proved they could also be tamed. By helping Dek during his attack on Weyland-Yutani and sacrificing itself in the final battle, Squirt helped Dek survive the attack. Squirt was one of many different Shoulder Cannons used by Predators, and easily the most unusual.
